Actinovate is an organic fungicide composed of a beneficial bacteria strain that inhibits and kills predatory fungus. It is used for the suppression and control of root rot and damping-off fungi and of foliar fungal pathogens like mildew. Actinovate works differently than broad spectrum fungicides that kill off everything. It is selective bacteria that its formulated to attack only the harmful bacteria in the soil. These bacteria are either completely destroyed or rendered to levels that they can no longer function. When introduced into the soil these microbes colonize and grow around the root system of plants. While settling in the root's rhizosphere the microbes form a synergetic relationship, feeding off of the plant's waste materials while secreting beneficial and protective by-products. This combination of the colonization and the protective secretions forms a defensive barrier around the root system of the plant which in turn suppresses and controls soil pathogens. Actinovate can be used as a soil drench for pre treating soils or as a foliar spray. When applied to soil, Actinovate also breaks down minerals and micronutrients making them more readily available to plants, resulting in stronger and healthier plants and can be applied up to harvest. Its also OMRI listed.
